Use it when

you're setting up browsers for the team, or choosing a VPN.

Set up the browser

Firefox, or another browser built with privacy in mind, kept updated.
HTTPS-only mode and tracking protection on.
No passwords saved in the browser. They go in the password manager.
Camera, microphone and location only for sites you trust.
The AI assistant off for sensitive work.
A tracker blocker, and no extensions you don’t need.

Choosing a VPN

Who runs it, and how does it pay its way?
Does it keep records, and has an independent audit checked it?
Two installed before you need them, from the official store or website.

Never

Install a VPN file passed round in a group chat.

Notes

Take care: A VPN moves your trust rather than removing it. To stay anonymous, use Tor Browser.
